We are excited to welcome back Emmanuel Jenkins, our highly rated 2026 SNTI keynote speaker, for a timely conversation about belonging, accessibility, and inclusion during the holiday season.
The holidays are often a time for connection, celebration, and being together with the people we care about. But what if you had to watch the people you love celebrate while you sat outside on your own? What if you were invited, but the space, activities, or expectations made it impossible for you to take part?
Inspired by his original song, Can I Get In?, Emmanuel invites us to think more deeply about what it really means to belong. Drawing from both his professional and personal experience, he will explore the ways people with disabilities can be included, or unintentionally left out, of holiday gatherings, traditions, and celebrations.
Accessibility is about more than getting through the door. Disabilities are not always visible, and creating inclusive spaces means considering the different ways people experience and participate in the world around them. Together, we’ll reflect on the environments we create, the assumptions we make, and the choices we can make to ensure our family members, friends, and others in our communities are not treated as an afterthought.
As we head into the holiday season, Emmanuel challenges us to consider a simple but powerful question: When someone asks, “Can I get in?,” can you say you’ve created a space where they can truly belong?
