The National Center for START Services® is in 32 states! We work with states, counties, cities, agencies and other entities to support the development and certification of START programs and other services. Using the START model as a foundation, each START program can meet its unique community needs and maintain fidelity to the model.
We also support services based on the START model and other partnerships such as training and system evaluations. We provide ongoing support both in person and virtually at all phases of development.

State has at least one Certified START Program: The state (or part of the state) has at least one START program that is certified by NCSS to offer full crisis prevention and intervention and systems linkage services to persons with IDD-MH and their families.
State has at least one START Program: The state (or part of the state) offers full crisis prevention and intervention and systems linkage services to persons with IDD-MH and their families and is seeking certification from NCSS.
Services Based on START Model: The state (or part of the state) offers some cross-systems crisis prevention and intervention services to persons with IDD-MH and their families that reflect the values of the START model but is not seeking program certification from NCSS.
START Network Partner: The state (or part of the state) is partnering with NCSS to provide training, education, or system evaluation services to professionals who work in IDD-MH.
