This 30-hour week-long in-person course will provide attendees with the skills and tools needed to facilitate P-IBT sessions within their own practice settings. A multi-modal instruction approach includes didactic lectures, group discussion, demonstrations, and experiential learning through expressive writing and role-playing.

Intended Audience: Mental health therapists/counselors, social workers, service coordinators/care coordinators, and direct support professionals that support individuals with IDD and mental health needs. No credentials required. Space is limited.

Continuing Education 

  • 3.0 UNH CEUs/30 contact hours will be provided to all attendees. Included with registration.

  • NASW: This program is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886725464-5984) for 30 continuing education contact hours. Included with registration.

  • NBCC: Positive-Interactive-Behavioral Therapy (P-IBT): Positive Group Psychotherapy for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities & Mental Health Needs (IDD-MH) has been approved by NBCC for NBCC credit. National Center for START Services University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. NBCC Approval No. SP-4013. Included with registration.

  • NYSW: The Center for START Services, Institute on Disability, University of New Hampshire, is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0452. This program offers up to 30 CE credits for New York Social Workers. Included with registration.

  • NHPA: This program is co-sponsored by the New Hampshire Psychological Association (NHPA) and The National Center for START Services, University of New Hampshire, Institute on Disability. NHPA is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists.
