Responsive Practice for Healthcare Providers

The Responsive Practice trainings enhance health care providers’ ability to deliver culturally competent, accessible care to people with intellectual, mobility, and other disabilities by helping them to identify and address barriers to care, thereby creating opportunities for patients with disabilities to maximize their wellness. The trainings are on-demand, free of charge, and eligible for Continuing Education (CE) & Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.

Learning Objectives:
  • Discuss disability and the prevalence of certain types of disability in NH;
  • Describe disparities in health experienced by people with disabilities compared to people without disabilities;
  • Recognize barriers people with disabilities face when accessing health care and preventive services; and
  • Acquire strategies and approaches to provide culturally competent, responsive care to patients with intellectual, mobility, and other disabilities.
