Tools that empower every student to learn, grow, and participate fully.

Tools that empower every student to learn, grow, and participate fully.

Assistive technology (AT) plays a vital role in helping students access and engage with learning in ways that match their unique strengths and needs. In New Hampshire, AT supports success across every subject--from reading and math to art, music, and physical education.

ATinNH helps educators, families, and schools understand how assistive technology (AT), accessible educational materials (AEM), and inclusive instruction work together to make learning more equitable and effective for all students. Tools such as text-to-speech software, switch-accessible devices, tactile graphics, and adapted musical instruments open new pathways for participation and achievement.

Through collaboration and training, ATinNH partners with school districts, educators, and families to strengthen systems of support for students who benefit from AT. Our services include:

  • Customized training and technical assistance for school-based teams
  • Parent consultations to help families explore and advocate for AT options
  • Transition planning support to prepare students for life after school
  • Guidance on Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology (QIAT) and accessible materials

Educators and families can also explore the AT4All lending library, a hands-on resource that allows teams to borrow and test devices before making decisions. This approach ensures that AT solutions are tailored to each student’s needs and learning goals.

ATinNH is here to help New Hampshire schools create learning environments where every student has the tools—and the opportunity—to participate, learn, and thrive.

To learn more, download the New Hampshire Assistive Technology Handbook, developed in partnership with the NH Department of Education, CAST, and AT specialists across the state. The guide walks schools through the Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology and the steps to ensure AT is provided in accordance with state and federal law.
