Living independently with Assistive Technology

Living independently with Assistive Technology

Assistive technology (AT) empowers users to live independently, safely, and with choice. By supporting everyday tasks at home, school, work, or in the community, AT can reduce reliance on caregivers and help individuals perform everyday tasks safely and efficiently.

AT ranges from simple, low-tech tools—grab bars, magnifiers, adaptive utensils—to mid-tech aids like talking thermometers, amplified phones, and smart pill dispensers. High-tech solutions include voice-controlled home systems, power wheelchairs, and communication devices using eye-tracking or speech synthesis.

ATinNH helps individuals, families, and professionals discover the right tools through personalized consultations, device demonstrations, and training sessions. Our approach is person-centered, practical, and informed by real-world needs. Whether you’re exploring AT for yourself, a loved one, or someone you support professionally, we provide guidance with compassion, expertise, and a focus on independence.
