Celebrating Stacy Driscoll and Desi Peña

NH-ME LEND says goodbye to two dedicated faculty members, Stacy Driscoll and Desi Peña. We wish them well in their pursuit of new life experiences, both professional and personal, and thank them for their years of dedication and contribution to our program.

After twelve wonderful years at the Institute on Disability, Stacy Driscoll has headed south to sunny Florida to begin an exciting new chapter in her life.

Stacy served as training director for NH-ME LEND for the past five years. She was an integral part of the faculty team and highly respected for her ability to collaboratively co-coordinate development, implementation, and evaluation of all LEND activities. Her investment in making LEND an accessible, top-notch experience for every trainee was evident in all that she did. Prior to LEND, Stacy used her expertise as an educator in her various roles at the Institute on Disability: UNH IOD Bridges Training Instructor, Trainer/Coordinator for RAISE, and Program Coordinator for Assistive Technology NH (ATinNH).

We also say goodbye to Desi Peña, bilingual speech-language pathologist. Her initial experience with NH-ME LEND was as a trainee in 2019-2020. She then joined as a Maine faculty mentor and later co-coordinated the clinical core, building many new clinical placements for Maine trainees.

Desi developed an effective structure to prepare and support trainees through their clinical experiences which enabled them to more easily integrate the three core components of LEND together through their clinical placement learning. Desi is joining the Warren Center for Speech and Hearing at Penobscot Community Health Care and will be working primarily with pediatric patients.

NH-ME LEND wishes Stacy and Desi continued success in their future endeavors.
