The New Hampshire Disability and Health Program recently released a report illustrating how people with disabilities are at an increased risk of food insecurity. Barriers include financial challenges, transportation, and accessibility.

Despite the legal protections and assistance programs currently in place, persons with disabilities continue to experience increased rates of poverty and other economic disadvantages, including food insecurity. Further supports and systems are needed to lessen food insecurity’s impact in the Granite State.
