Dear Leaders,

New Hampshire Leadership is marching toward the “1000 graduates” number, quite a celebratory milestone as we also prepare to celebrate our 30th Anniversary of the start of Leadership in 1988!

There has been much to celebrate over the years, including strong partnerships with many state and area agencies and foundations, the achievements and successes of so many of our graduates, and the strengthening of Leadership as a catalyst in the state. Each year we anticipate the new class’s arrival and wonder which of them will become strong legislative advocates or even run for office, or who will become part of a school board or area agency board or council, or who will become employed in one of the state or local agencies and serve in that capacity.

We know for sure that service is a strong outcome of Leadership training and involvement. For many of you who come through Leadership, this was the first place where you spoke into a microphone or used your pen or voice to advocate for a piece of legislation. Leadership was perhaps the start of a life in public service or a place where you found that your professional career could be reimagined and a new career pieced together to include work in the field of disability. Maybe Leadership the first place you were able to really connect to other people or families who were walking a similar path. Or maybe you heard opinions and ideas that challenged you to think differently and hear another side. We hope all of these experiences have led you to becoming a more confident and stronger leader.

Partnerships, service, connections, successful outcomes – Leadership has become part of a valuable foundation and force in the formation of many leaders in the state. The Leadership journey continues and your enthusiastic support of this year’s graduating class will help them launch into a welcoming group of these nearly 1000 graduates.

If Leadership has touched your life in any way, we hope to see you at the 30th Anniversary Celebration on April 6 and that you will become part of this monumental evening of fun, connection, and welcoming! Share your stories, build your community, and celebrate with friends of Leadership and alumni.

Encourage, lift and strengthen one another. For the positive energy spread to one will be felt by us all. For we are connected, one and all.

Deborah Day

Warmly,
