Professional Background

Robert Scholz is a Massachusetts Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LHMC) with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Salem State University. He has worked extensively in project oversight and project development, including project development, implementation, and service delivery for individuals experiencing aging, dementia, and intensive medical needs. Robert was part of the first START Services program in Massachusetts, and later helped manage the Sovner Center, a community mental health clinic specializing in progressive, person-centered treatment for individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities and mental health and behavioral health challenges. Robert serves as the NCSS Director of Program Development and works with START projects in the development and operational stages to ensure successful development and implementation in line with NCSS fidelity standards. At the IOD, Robert is currently involved with a CDC Health and Wellness Linkage grant in collaboration with other IOD colleagues. An outdoor enthusiast, Robert enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping, geology, meteorology, and astronomy.
