Professional Background

Caitlyn Veenstra holds a graduate degree in education from the University of New Hampshire and Plymouth State University. In addition, she is a doctoral candidate in the Doctor of Education program in Learning, Leadership, and Community at Plymouth State University. As an educator, Caitlyn has supported the building of an interdisciplinary seminar course and co-presented data-informed learning outcomes at the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) annual conference.

Caitlyn’s background in project management, course development, and training have contributed to understanding the needs of adult, online learners. As a Training Coordinator, Caitlyn is a member of the Training & Professional Development team; supporting the delivery of high-quality training and professional development opportunities on the mental health aspects of IDD to a national audience. Caitlyn is wholly interested in the pursuit of learning spaces that are diverse, equitable, inclusive, and foster a sense of belonging for every person. Additional professional interests include assessing effectiveness, centering lived experience, and promoting transformational change.

Outside of work, Caitlyn can be found spending time with her nuclear and extended family, along with an assortment of pets. She enjoys reading, watching documentaries, swimming, traveling, and exploring cultural attractions.
