CHHS Research Conference Poster Presentation

On Friday, February 5, 2016, more than 45 faculty and staff from the UNH’s College of Health & Human Services (CHHS) braved an unexpected snowstorm and came together for their biennial Research Conference. During a poster session, members of the IOD research team presented their recent projects and findings. The poster session allowed IOD staff members the chance to showcase and share their research interests with colleagues.

The day began with a panel discussion with Dr. Jan Nisbet, UNH Senior Vice President Research, Dr. James McCarthy, a former CHHS Dean, and Dr. Tom Sherman, current member of NH House of Representatives and Seacoast Area Gastroenterologist. They talked about the state of research, UNH research initiatives, and what is happening in the NH policy landscape.

“All of the IOD faculty were pleased to be able to share our research with other members of the College of Health & Human Services,” shared Dr. Charles Drum, Director of the IOD. “We made some valuable connections that will help us better develop our research in the future.”

IOD Staff at CHHS Research Conference

With more than a dozen staff members participating in the poster presentations, faculty and staff from all parts of CHHS learned more about the research activities of the IOD. Highlights included a poster presentation by Dr. Debra Brucker and Nick Rollins, "Trips to Medical Care among Persons with Disabilities.” There were also an overview of the Disability and Public Health Project and a look into family-centered early supports and services for children 12-36 months with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
