The IOD Bookstore at the University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability reached two milestones this summer, passing $1 million in revenue and processing over 10,000 orders since launching in 2007. The Bookstore’s impressive growth reflects its success in supporting the IOD mission. Notable is its breadth of inventory, carrying over 400 products, including 70 free downloads.
“It has been my privilege to be a part of the IOD Bookstore as it supports the Institute by providing quality resources and materials to the public regarding all matters of disability,” said Kate Filanoski, Bookstore Coordinator at the Institute on Disability. “We look forward to continuing to provide an accessible avenue to distribute IOD produced items and other relevant materials on disability for years to come!“
These huge milestones are due in large part to several bestsellers authored by IOD faculty and produced by IOD programs such as Dan Habib’s award-winning documentary films Including Samuel and Who Cares About Kelsey?, as well as Therese Willkomm’s Assistive Technology Solutions in Minutes, Books 1 and 2, and the RENEW Facilitator’s Manual and Youth Portfolio.
“With the depth of its catalogue, quality of services, and ever-expanding presence in the disability community, the IOD Bookstore has earned its reputation as a robust and reliable resource for individuals interested in disability education,” said Matthew Gianino, Director of Communications at the Institute on Disability. “The Bookstore’s remarkable sales milestones are indicative of the impact that IOD initiatives have on individuals and institutions both locally and nationally.”
