Trish joined the MSW team at UNH as a Clinical Assistant Professor and MSW Director. She has worked as a consultant in New Hampshire for a variety of different organizations and institutions. Prior to her time at UNH she was employed as an Out-of-District and Transition Special Education Coordinator for Portsmouth School District in New Hampshire. Trish worked as a child life specialist, and later as a child life coordinator, for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York for nine years. Trish has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Trinity College in Connecticut, a M.S.Ed (Early Childhood with a specialization in child life) from Bank Street College in New York, and a MSW from the University of New Hampshire, Durham.

Trish has a strong history of leadership within the Child Life Council and NASW-NH. She has served on the Child Life Certification Committee, the Education Committee (now the Education & Training Committee), the Nominating Committee, and Governance Task Force. She held the position of Board Director from 2008-2010, and was a force behind the development of CLC’s online networking initiatives (CLC Community, Facebook, and Twitter pages) as the first chair of the Web and Online Networking Advisory Task Force, which was established in 2009.

Trish has also been active with other professional organizations, including Child Life of Greater New York (CLGNY), where she served as Regional Conference Chair (2001-2004) and President (2005-2007), and the New Hampshire chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NH-NASW), where she just finished a three year term as President.

She has just been appointed to the NASW National Board. Her other volunteer leadership efforts include positions as Director and past VP, of the Richie McFarland Children’s Center Board, and President of the Friends of Newfields Public Library.
