PCORI Foundational Expectations

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) has developed six foundational expectations for partnerships in research—building blocks for meaningful, effective, and sustainable engagement with patients, communities, and other partners in research. Building on recent evidence and PCORI awardees’ experiences with engagement, the expectations provide a structured way for teams to approach and tailor engagement to achieve project goals.
