This month we highlight our Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD), a national network of university-based interdisciplinary centers and programs, including our very own Institute on Disability at UNH and the Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies at UMaine among many others. AUCD coordinates network activities, disseminates a wide variety of resources and information, and provides technical assistance to the network on a broad range of disability topics. You may be interested in some of these resources:
- Network Narratives are real stories from inspiring leaders within the AUCD network who are working to make change. Recent topics include ethics in genetics and first-hand perspectives on issues faced by people receiving community- based housing assistance
- The bimonthly Disability Policy News will keep you up to date on current federal legislation, policy, and social issues affecting people with disabilities through. Learn how Congress and the executive branch agencies fund and regulate programs used by people with disabilities. Review tools on how to educate and connect with congressional members.
- The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Hub provides resources and action steps that help enhance diversity, equity and inclusion and promote cultural humility and responsiveness.
- The AUCD Webinar Library puts over 500 webinars at your fingertips. Recent topics include: the role of minority stress for the health of people with autism, the creation of sensory inclusive clinical spaces, and social media skills and safety for individuals with disabilities.
AUCD is a national network of people who are passionate about growing the next generation of leaders and driving positive change for people with disabilities and their families.
