Jennifer Rabalais Awarded Scholarship from CVS Health Foundation

This February, Jennifer Rabalais, Co-Director of the Center on Aging and Community Living (CACL) was awarded a scholarship from the CVS Health Foundation to attend the 2020 American Society on Aging (ASA) Leadership Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. She received this honor for her regional and national leadership in the aging arena. The ASA Leadership Institute is a five-day leadership development intensive that’s designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in the field of aging. AUCD Honors ABLE NH & Lisa Beaudoin (LEND 2015)

ABLE NH (Advocates Building Lasting Equality in NH) and Lisa Beaudoin, received the AUCD’s 2019 Special Recognition Award on November 19, 2019 in Washington D.C.  The Association of University Centers on Disability presents this award annually to an individual, group or organization outside of the AUCD network, to recognize outstanding contributions toward creating more inclusive communities for people with disabilities and their families. Lisa was honored for shepherding ABLE NH through its development arc toward long term financial sustainability and striving tirelessly to fulfill its civil and human rights mission for children and adults with disabilities. Read More


Kessler Foundation Awards Over $250,000 to the IOD

The Kessler Foundation awarded $250,000 to the IOD to investigate the experiences of recent college graduates with disabilities as they transitioned into the workplace, including experiences related to career planning, searching for a job, interviewing with potential employers, disability disclosure, salary, onboarding, and accommodations.  READ MORE


WITH Foundation Grant 

The Center for START Services has been awarded a grant from the WITH Foundation to work in collaboration with prescribers, family members, and service users to develop Holistic Best Practice Prescribing Guidelines in MH/IDD for Healthcare Providers.

The Holistic Best Practice Prescribing Guidelines in MH/IDD for Healthcare Providers will include a comprehensive reference list of resources for best practices and provide key information aimed toward holistic, inter-disciplinary, integrated approaches for effective mental healthcare for people with IDD. The goal is to engage at least 100 prescribers across the nation to pilot and provide feedback on the developed guidelines. Participants in this study will make a major contribution to the final version of the Best Practice Guidelines. Once completed, these guidelines will be made widely available.  READ More
