Steps 2 Success combines online coursework with hands-on experience to prepare individuals for meaningful careers in behavioral health. Apprentices gain the knowledge, mentorship, and nationally recognized credentials needed to thrive in this fast-growing field.
Program Details
- Length: 16 weeks of online instruction + 2,000 hours of on-the-job training

Steps 2 Success is a U.S. Department of Labor–registered apprenticeship program that equips behavioral health aides with specialized skills in care coordination, person-centered support, and community connection.
Who Can Apply
The Steps 2 Success apprenticeship is open to individuals who:
- Are 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have entry-level experience in behavioral health
- May or may not have lived experience with behavioral health, substance use, or justice involvement
This program welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds who are motivated to make a difference in their communities.
What You’ll Learn
Apprentices receive instruction and practical training in:
- Interdisciplinary teamwork
- Family systems and behavioral health
- Person-centered care
- Crisis intervention
- Navigating community resources
By the end of the program, participants will be prepared to support individuals and families affected by behavioral health challenges with compassion, skill, and professionalism.
