NRC Poster Session Winners
The NRC is proud to announce the winners of the YAI MH-IDD Poster Session Call.
Dr. Miriam Heyman and Dr. Anne Valentine’s poster, Enhancing maternal care for women with IDD: a toolkit for doulas and healthcare providers was selected for presentation at the NRC’s Annual Meeting as well as to be featured on the NRC’s Website. Dr. Heyman and Dr. Valentine are current NRC awardees who are exploring experiences related to postpartum mental health for women with IDD. More information about their project can be found here.
Amalia Udeanu’s poster Advancing Inclusive Mental Health: Reducing Disparities in Evidence-Based Tobacco Cessation Supports for Adults with Intellectual Disability has been selected to be featured on the NRC’s website. (link). Funded by the Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs (2023I056), this project aims to document and evaluate approaches to tobacco addiction in people with intellectual disability, to improve care and promote tailored intervention initiatives. The work involves collaboration among several universities and organizations in Spain, including the University of Oviedo, International University of La Rioja, Complutense University of Madrid, University of Cantabria, and Futuro Singular (Córdoba).
The core research team includes: Gloria García Fernández (PI), Laura Elisabet Gómez Sánchez, María Estrella Fernández Alba, Patricia Solís García, Mónica Bernaldo-de-Quirós, Andrea Krotter, Lucía Morán Suárez, Juan Antonio García Aller, Amalia Udeanu, and Juan Antonio.
