Reentry Sisters: NH-ME LEND’s Newest Leadership Partner
NH-ME LEND would like to welcome our newest leadership partner, Reentry Sisters. Reentry Sisters is the sole organization in Maine dedicated to helping justice-impacted women reenter society by fostering community connections and self-sufficiency. Their work centers on education, wellness, leadership, and community.
Reentry Sisters: MacKenzie, Danielle, Lu, and Megan
Reentry Sisters works toward systemic change, ensuring all women are supported in their transition from incarceration to thriving futures. They are launching their inaugural Education Initiative Cohort, providing women with college classes, financial support, professional development, emotional healing, peer mentorship, tech support, resource navigation and community.
For this year’s capstone project, Executive Director, Linda Small and her team are partnering with Maine LEND trainee Emmerson Leach-Howell to research and analyze data examining variations within and across systems related to women, people with disabilities, adult education, and the criminal justice system. The capstone project may include a co-authored white paper as well as a list of recommended actions which may be included in a legislative brief and/or educational presentation ready for academic/institutional audience and federal legislators.
