NH State Alliance for Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE)

The New Hampshire State Alliance on Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) is focused on enhancing the capacity of New Hampshire institutions of higher education to support the education of diverse students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Post-secondary education is critical for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as it is a strong predictor of employment, and may also have other secondary outcomes such as enhanced self-determination and quality of life.

What is the purpose of the State Alliance?

Our purpose is to share resources and build relationships with the short-term goal of creating more opportunities for inclusive post-secondary education for diverse students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New Hampshire. This short-term goal will include the establishment of financially sustainable practices for inclusive post-secondary education, capacity-building in Universal Design for Learning principles, and identification of New Hampshire institutions of higher education to implement new inclusive post-secondary education programming.

An important secondary outcome of this work is enhanced capacity of educators and institutes of higher education throughout New Hampshire to serve students with a wide range of disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, serious mental health conditions, etc.), in addition to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Who is part of the State Alliance?
