It’s more than a program. It’s a catalyst.
Since its founding, the New Hampshire Leadership Series has prepared over 1,100 graduates to create lasting change in their communities — and beyond. Grounded in the belief that communities are strongest when everyone belongs, Leadership equips participants with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to influence systems, advance policy, and drive progress in every corner of the state.
Powerful results. Lasting change.
Nearly 100 graduates have served in elected office, including school and select boards, the New Hampshire Legislature, and even the Governor’s office and US Senate.
Leadership graduates have played key roles in advancing state policies that:
- Established New Hampshire’s statewide family support system
- Eliminated waiting lists for adult developmental services
- Restricted the use of restraint and seclusion in schools
- Founded grassroots disability rights groups, including ABLE NH

Community leaders, system shapers.
Graduates are leading across sectors — as educators, nonprofit directors, filmmakers, advocates, and public servants. What they share is a deep understanding of disability policy, the confidence to speak up, and the tools to make a difference.
“I not only grew in my professional and personal life — I grew to become just me.”

Building a more inclusive future
More than 166,000 New Hampshire residents live with a disability. That’s just under one in five people. NH Leadership Series ensures their voices — and the voices of those who love and support them — are part of shaping what comes next.
“We met with legislators. I got to talk with them and learn how laws come into effect. It was really informative — it made the process less overwhelming and more empowering.”

“If you or someone you love has a disability and you want to make life better — at school, at work, in your community — Leadership gives you the tools. I wish I had found it sooner.”
- NH Leadership Graduate
“Your Leadership class and fellow grads become the people you turn to on the hard days — and the first people you celebrate with on the good ones.”
