Wraparound Coordinator Certification

NH Wraparound Coordinator Certification requirements effective November 2023.

Description

These certification requirements have been developed to conform to the competency needs of Wraparound Coordinators. If you are applying for certification and are concerned about requirements, please contact JoAnne Malloy at joanne.malloy@unh.edu. The certification panel can waive certain requirements on an individual basis.

NH Wraparound Coordinator Certification Requirements

  • Completed foundational NH Wraparound Coordinator orientation and training.
  • Completed a DHHS-approved Cultural and Linguistic Competency training.
  • Completed a DHHS-approved worker safety and mandated reporting training.
  • Completed online Positive Collaboration training module.
  • Completed a 1-day Initial Training on Addiction and Recovery and a half-day Families and Addiction training.
  • Completed 2-day Graphic Facilitation and Team Planning Processes Training with Patty Cotton.
  • Achieved and maintained CANS certification.
  • Completed a minimum of 12 hours of shadowing which must include 5 hours shadowing family team meetings, 5 hours shadowing initial (Hello phase) meetings, and 2 hours shadowing in-between meetings, with an endorsed or certified NH Wraparound Coordinator.
  • Received 1:1 coaching weekly during first 3 months, and 2x/month thereafter, for minimum 1 hour, from endorsed NH Wraparound Coach. 
  • Completed a minimum of 12 hours of active coaching with a Wraparound Coach.
  • Provided at least 50 hours of Wraparound Facilitation to at least 3 families/youth within the last 12 months.
  • Participated in monthly group coaching meetings (minimum 10 per calendar year).
  • Observed by a Wraparound Coach in at least one Wraparound Team meeting for at least 2 families each, and received a score of 80% or higher on the NH Wraparound Coordinator Observation Tool and Plan of Care Coaching Tool for each family.
  • Submitted 2 Plans of Care that include Crisis Safety Plans and received score of min. 80% on NH Wraparound Plan of Care Review Tool. Plans must be for two different families and also should not be for the same families used for the Observation Tool above. 
  • Submitted letters of recommendation from coach, supervisor, and agency director.

NH Wraparound Coordinator Certification Renewal Requirements

Certified Wraparound Coordinator must renew their certification every 24 months if they wish to retain their certification.

  • Completed initial certification requirements within the previous 24 months.
  • Documentation that the individual has provided NH Wraparound continuously with 3 or more families within the past 12 months.
  • Completed Better Together with Birth Parents training.
  • Documentation of 12 hours of continuing education directly related to Wraparound, such as trauma training, suicide prevention, Motivational Interviewing, Youth MH First Aid, or related training.
  • Received 1:1 coaching at least once a month (remote is okay) from a certified NH Wraparound Coach which adds up to at least 24 hours of coaching per year.
  • Participated in NH Wraparound Small Group coaching monthly (minimum of 10 sessions a calendar year).
  • Participated in a minimum of 6 active coaching sessions per recertification period.
  • Maintained CANS certification and participated in a CANS booster training.
  • Observation by a Wraparound coach in Wraparound Team meetings with at least 2 families and received a score of 80% or higher on the NH Wraparound Coordinator Observation Tool and Plan of Care Coaching Tool.
  • Submitted 2 Plans of Care including the Crisis Safety Plans for two different families for review and received a score of 80% or higher on the POC Review Tool
  • 1 Transition Planning Observation, observed by a NH wraparound coach with a score of 80% or higher (can use same family) along with the corresponding transition planning portfolio.
  • Coach's and supervisor's letters of recommendation.
