We see our mission in action through the people and communities we serve.
Mental and behavioral health concerns among children are common—and addressable. Roughly 1 in 5 children aged 3 to 17 experience a mental, emotional, behavioral, or developmental disorder. The good news? Proven treatments exist. Still, many children and families do not receive the care they need. Families and providers often don’t know where to find effective services. There are not enough trained providers to meet the demand. That's where we come in.
The Center for Children's Behavioral Health was created to strengthen New Hampshire's children's health system by improving access, building capacity, and providing direct support.
How are we making a difference?
Hear directly from individuals, families, and partners who’ve experienced our impact firsthand. Their stories, alongside the numbers, reflect the heart of our mission: improving behavioral health by advancing effective practices, fostering collaboration, and transforming systems of care.
“RENEW surrounded me with a team that understood where and why I was struggling and presented me with a feasible plan that helped me to graduate on time.”
- Anthony, RENEW Participant
“The IOD has worked relentlessly for as long as I've been doing this work (a long time) to create and improve the children's System of Care in NH. JoAnne Malloy and her crew push every day to advocate for children with mental health needs; train, coach, support, and equip practitioners and agencies to do their best work; and partner and network all over the state and beyond. Ever the collaborators, I'm proud of our partnership over the years, and look forward to continuing to move the field forward together in the years to come.”
- Jim Fauth, Behavioral Health Improvement Institute Director, Keene State College
“Over the years, the IOD has played an essential role in expanding Wraparound in New Hampshire by providing high-quality coaching and training. Our longstanding partnership with the IOD has been both productive and rewarding, and we deeply value the relationship we’ve built together.”
- Jacqueline Davis, Care Management Entity Administrator, NFI North
“You feel alone when you feel like you can't talk about your story. Abd when you have that outlet, it's such a big difference. Being around a group of people that represent what you believe in is super important.”
- Kim, Wildcats for Recovery participant
“This work has changed my life and my family’s life immensely. I have a purpose now and because of this, I can create change in other peoples’ lives for the better.”
— Kim, Building Futures Together Participant
