A training opportunity for paraprofessional staff who work in behavioral health with children, youth, and families!!
Building Futures Together is a grant funded 18-21 month program designed to prepare paraprofessionals in healthcare and school settings to provide specialized enhanced care coordination to children, youth, and their caregivers impacted by opioid use disorders (OUD) and other substance use disorders (SUD). “There is a pressing need to provide community-based care coordination to children, adolescents, and families affected by opioid use and other substance use disorders,” says Dr. JoAnne Malloy, the director of the project. “And we are hopeful Building Futures Together will address our workforce shortages while standing up a high-quality practice to support some of our most vulnerable children and youth.” During the program, each trainee will receive a stipend of up to $12,500 to defray the costs of program participation and program graduates will receive a certificate from the University of New Hampshire. Employers work with the trainee to provide on-the-job training, so employers need to be involved from the beginning.
To learn more about our program and apply, please visit Building Futures Together. At this website you will find our recruitment flyer and a 2-page overview of the program, both in English and Spanish. Since this cohort will begin at the beginning of May, interviews and acceptance decisions will be made in late March or early April. We have scheduled two information sessions (via Zoom) if you are interested in learning more: the time, dates, and Zoom links are below. If these days/times do not work for you, please let us know and we will set up a session for a time that works for you.
