Outside experts play an important role in our Project ECHO Community of Practice. Your role will be to provide a 15-20 minute didactic presentation on some aspect of community life engagement, and to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the case presentation at that month’s meeting.
Ideally, your presentation will reflect some element(s) of the four guideposts for CLE as described in our toolkit. We may already have a guidepost in mind that we’d like you to present on, or we can work with you to make that connection.
We encourage each presenter to identify a co-presenter who has IDD. This could be someone you support, or someone else whose story ties in well to the theme of your presentation.
Compensation
We will be offering $200 in compensation for your time in preparing for and presenting at this session. If you identify a co-presenter with IDD we will also pay them $200. Please let us know if you would like us to issue payment to you directly or if we should pay your organization for you speaking as part of your role. We are happy to help draft an invoice for your convenience.
Preparation Timeframe
You will be asked to do several things to prepare for a successful meeting:
- Work with Tracey Parent, Program Coordinator, to set up an iECHO account so you can access the meeting link.
- Send us your presentation slides and handouts 2 weeks ahead of the meeting date
- If this is your first time presenting to our CoP, participate in a dry run 3-5 days ahead of the meeting.
- Join the meeting room 15 minutes ahead of the meeting time for a final tech check.
