Professional Background

Mary joined the IOD in June 2015 as short-term contractor and was hired in February 2016 as a full-time Project Director.  Prior to working for the IOD Mary spent thirty years in advocacy roles for individuals experiencing developmental disabilities or acquired brain disorders.  Mary’s experience includes training, quality improvement initiatives and advocacy for the enhancement of supports and services. 


The Living Well grant focuses on expanding the capacity of Home and Community-Based Systems and to enhance community monitoring in order to prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation. This framework will support the state partners in enhancing and assuring the independence, integration, health, safety, and well-being of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities living in the community by improving the quality of the services and supports provided by disability service providers.
