NH-ME LEND Program is recruiting for the 2016-2017 Cohort!

If you are a parent, a person who has a disability or the sibling of a person who has a disability AND you are a college graduate who has an interest in developing leadership skills, then the NH-ME LEND Program may be for you! As a NH-ME LEND Family Trainee you would be part of an intensive 9-month program based at UNH in Durham. There is an application process and you can learn more at the NH-ME LEND website.

The NH LEND program includes several components:

  • Enrollment in a graduate seminar
  • Participation on interdisciplinary clinical teams
  • Collaboration with faculty, students, and families
  • Developing your research skills
  • Involvement in community programs to develop leadership skills
  • Participation in public policy efforts

There are 4 former NH Leadership Series grads in this year’s NH LEND class—Darienne McGuinness (2015), Stacey Brooks (2004), Jeanne Haase (2012) and Paloma Sylvan (2012). The NH Leadership Series is a great stepping stone to LEND, which is a highly academic program and is very time intensive. Some say being in LEND is like having a part time job.

Jenn Pineo and Kathy Bates, group leaders in NH Leadership have been through LEND.  Ann Dillon is Family Faculty in LEND. Any of us would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the NH LEND program and how it might fit into your life. You can contact the Training Director, Betsy Humphreys by clicking here.
