Telehealth is becoming widely recognized as an efficient way to increase access to genetic services and education. Mandated reimbursement for telehealth services is expanding in many states throughout the nation.
The New England Regional Genetics Network in collaboration with the Western States Regional Genetics Network has developed and implemented an introductory telegenetics training program for genetic
counselors and genetic counseling students.
The program includes:
- Ten self-paced on-line modules (~15 minutes each)
- Two live webinars (1 hour and 1.5 hours)
- A MANDATORY one day in-person, hands-on training
If you are accepted, there is no cost to participate in this training. 1.01 Category 1 CEU will be provided for practicing genetic counselors at no cost to participants. Preference is given to applicants working in or planning to work in New England.
New England in-person trainings, hosted by the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, will be held on March 26, 27, and 28, 2019. Applicants will have the choice of attending one of these three dates in Springfield, MA.
