MTSS-B Behavior Support Team Retreats - CICO
SPRING 2020: Time for a Check-In/Check-Out (CICO) Tune-Up!
This session is for Tier 2/3 teams to focus on the adoption, installation, and implementation of Check In/Check Out (CICO), an evidence-based Tier 2 intervention for students who need additional and positive support from school staff. There will be instruction on how identify students, gain consent, involve parents, staff training requirements, CICO tools, how to use the CICO data for progress monitoring (including the application in SWIS.org for schools that have access), and scheduling. There will be ample team time and individualized consultation. This session is best for schools that are ready to begin or have been implementing Tier 2 systems and practices.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Teams implementing targeted/ Tier 2 & 3/ Behavior Support MTSS-B or PBIS. Attendance at both sessions is recommended but not required.
The MTSS-B framework consists of three levels: Tier 1 (Universal), Tier 2 (Behavior Support), and Tier 3 (Intensive), each designed to prevent problem behaviors and address the behavioral support needs of students at risk of school failure. Behavior Support Teams match and monitor students who are not responding to schoolwide supports, increasing the level of support through function-based group interventions and simple behavior support plans.
