Equity and Excellence in Higher Education is a faculty development project of the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire, in partnership for the Institute on Community Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts in Boston. The project provides college and university faculty with strategies for instruction that create an inclusive and accessible classroom, supportive of the learning diversities of its students. The focus of the project is on "Inclusive Curriculum Design" strategies including a Universal Design for Learning approach, and a peer support model of professional development called "Reflective Practice". This project is designed to ensure that students with disabilities receive a higher quality education through the further implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of a model of comprehensive professional development for college faculty and support personnel. |
Equity and Excellence in Higher Education is a three year model demonstration project funded by the Office of Postsecondary Education. Twenty-one projects with similar objectives have been funded by this office.
