A Look Back

Equity and Excellence in Higher Education 1999 - 2002

"The great thing about RP (Reflective Practice) is that it's more than just having fleeting thoughts about your teaching when driving home after class. It really gives you a non-threatening environment to think about your teaching and gives you some good ideas. I also came to understand my students better by knowing what they're doing in their other classes." - a reflective practice member

The goal of Equity and Excellence in Higher Education 1999 - 2002 was to address the interrelated problems of poor educational outcomes for college students with disabilities and the college faculty's lack of knowledge in the area of effective curriculum design for diverse learners. In particular, through a number of different opportunities, we designed a comprehensive guide to using reflective practice: Promoting Excellence in College Teaching: A 'Reflective Practice' Toolkit for Coaches.
