Equal Opportunities, Independent Living, and Economic Self-Sufficiency Subject of Second Annual Real Choices Conference, Sponsored by UNH's Institute on Disability/UCED

Bartlett - Voting accessibility, choices for seniors, supported employment, and community options are just some of the topics featured at the second annual Real Choices for Older Adults and Individuals with Disabilities Living in Your Community conference, sponsored by the University of New Hampshire's Institute on Disability/UCED.

After a popular first annual conference, this year's two-day cutting-edge event will be held on Sept. 28 and 29 at the Grand Summit in Bartlett, during a beautiful season in the heart of NH's White Mountains.

The conference highlights innovative practices that connect people to their communities in ways that promote equal opportunities, full participation, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency. Sessions during this year's conference include:

  • Including People with Disabilities in Community Economic Development Opportunities
  • Community Self-Advocacy: Personal Stories of Change
  • Assistive Technology Solutions
  • Coordinated Transportation
  • Research on Alternatives to Guardianship for Individuals with Disabilities
