Strategies For Working With Students With Challenging Behaviors Is The Topic Of A New Workshop Offered By The Institute On Disability At UNH

MANCHESTER – The Institute on Disability/UCED (IOD) at UNH will offer a unique one-day workshop in Manchester for paraprofessionals who work with students with challenging behaviors.

Join IOD staff member Cathy Apfel and other paraprofessional colleagues as they share approaches to support students with a wide range of behaviors. In this highly interactive session, participants will learn how to promote student engagement during learning activities, teach pro-social behaviors to students, and respond to rule-violating behaviors while maintaining your professionalism.

One-day sessions will be offered at the Highlander Inn in Manchester from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m., on the following dates: Wednesday, Nov. 3; Wednesday, Jan. 12; Thursday, Feb. 16; and Thursday, March 16.

Registration for this comprehensive one-day session is $80, which includes lunch and workshop materials. Participants are registered on a first-come, first-served basis. A confirmation notice, including directions, will be sent upon receipt of registration.
